Bravo Holiday Shopwalk!
Saturday, December 5
Throughout the Shorewood Business District Along
Oakland Ave. and Capitol Dr.
Our Holiday Shopwalk on Saturday, December 5 kicked off the Shorewood shopping season in style with free trolley rides, a visit from Santa and our ever-popular ice-carving exhibition. Many thanks to all of our businesses who sponsored an ice carver in front of their store, along with the Shorewood Foundation and the Shorewood Men’s Club who sponsored the trolley (the Men’s Club also sponsored an ice carving). Open Book, Shorewood’s new bookstore, was home to Santa and holiday music was in the air throughout the business district, compliments of the Shorewood Players.
Thanks also go to Don Berg and Winter Fun for coordinating our ice-carving exhibition. This year, we proudly displayed 20 ice carvings by award-winning artists, many of whom regularly compete at the international level.
- • First place went to Andy Haas Schneider for her sculpture at Shorewood Press/Robert Laurence Salon (4060 N. Oakland Ave.).
- • Second place went to Dave Andrews who carved in front of American Family Insurance (4484 N. Oakland Ave.).
- • Anne Marie Harder took third place for her ice carving in front of Garden Room/Anaba Tea Room (2107 E. Capitol Dr.).
- • Two honorable mentions were awarded to Krista Gustafson at Goldi (4114 N. Oakland Ave.) and Chris Andrews at The Men’s Room (4423 N. Oakland Ave.).
Watch for more information in early 2010 outlining our special events for the new year.
