New to Shorewood – Buttermint Finer Dining and Cocktails

Black Shoe Hospitality is opening Buttermint, its new restaurant in the Mosaic building at 4195 N. Oakland in Shorewood to present a “finer dining” experience and cocktails.

Co-owner Chef Joe Muench is constructing a modern menu with inspiration from the early 1960s, an era that launched modern restaurants as we know them today. Buttermint will celebrate this time with touches including Mid-Century Modern décor, a central role for cocktails in the dining experience, new interpretations of Continental cuisine, and a service style that honors the specialness of a night out, according to co-owner Dan Sidner.

The goal is to celebrate dining out and enjoying professional hospitality in an orchestrated, upbeat environment.  The name Buttermint honors the tradition started in this era of a final gift of mints as the check is presented.

Check out Buttermint as soon as they open!

In addition, our local event includes kids races (littles, middles and tweens) and more fun at the Kensington Square block party with music on the vintage fire truck by Ole Sam and the Teardrops presented by Three Lions Pub!

Streets will begin closing at 8a.m. and will remain closed until about 10pm for clean-up.  We would like to remind residents on the course route (see map) that they will not have access to their driveways so we encourage those residents to park outside the course area if access is needed.

There will no parking in the 1700 blocks of Olive, Marion, Lake Bluff and Kensington from Oakland Ave. westward to the commercial alley or end of commercial buildings, whether signs are posted or not.  For those located within the interior of the race route, you will have vehicle access at the intersection of Lake Bluff & Maryland Ave. in between races. This will be the only point that Shorewood Police will allow vehicle traffic to cross the route during intervals in the race. There will be no parking allowed on the racecourse during the event.

Volunteers Needed for the Shorewood Criterium Classic!
As we count down the weeks until the Shorewood Criterium Classic brought to you by Colectivo Coffee and part of the Tour of America’s Dairyland, we continue to look for volunteers to help on race day, Friday, June 25th from 11am to 8:30pm.

Races of this caliber could not happen without the support of you, our community and many volunteers and Shorewood has always risen to the challenge. If you are interested in either sponsorship opportunities or volunteering as a course marshal, please email Steph at director@shorewoodwi.com or click here to sign up online!

We are committed to doing our part to prioritize the health and safety of our attendees, staff, volunteers, and all other participants in order to protect our community and are excited to see the return of this annual event. We greatly appreciate your help and look forward to a fun event!
