A Street Festival Unlike Any Other on Oakland Avenue

The 5th Annual North Shore Bank Shorewood Feast is Shorewood’s signature street festival from the 4200 to the 4400 blocks of Oakland Avenue. This is a family-friendly foodie event with free entertainment and activities for every age. There will be music, entertainment, a harvest dinner, artisans, and more!

STREET CLOSURES
We would like to remind residents and businesses along Oakland Avenue from Wood to Kensington (see map on back) that they will need to park their cars outside the permit area if in/out access is needed.  There will no parking on Oakland Avenue from Wood to Kensington in addition streets will be closed off to traffic with barricades on Olive, Marion and Lake Bluff.  Please be sure to obey temporary no parking signs to avoid tickets and towing!

KID ZONE
The Feast is family-friendly with lots to do for the young ones.  All of our activities below are FREE, so come and enjoy!  Our generous sponsors for the kid zone include

  • Face Painting by Odalys Baez with Mom & Daughter Facepainting from Noon – 4:00pm
  • Caricature Artist and former Shorewood resident, Paul Merklein, will be drawing adults, kids, residents and visitors!
    Paul draws fast and funny, entertaining everyone and swapping stories about living in Shorewood and all the places he’s drawn people.

HARVEST DINNER – SOLD OUT
A meal in the middle of Oakland Avenue, seating 125 people! This year our guest chefs include Kyle Knall (Birch), Adam Pawlak (Egg & Flour), Greg Leon (Amilinda), Ruta Kahate (Ruta’s Fresh Indian Fare), Imani Graham (Mentionables Eats) & Kurt Fogle (Mid-Way Bakery & Dairyland).

If you purchased tickets for this year, stop by the Shorewood BID Volunteer tent (Blue Tent near Huntington Bank) to pick up your wrist band at least 30 minutes before dinner.

NORTH SHORE BANK TENT
Don’t miss your opportunity to stop by the North Shore Bank tent near the intersection of Lake Bluff and Oakland Avenue to write a kindness message on a postcard and send it to your best friend!  They will have a place to relax and rest in between eating, drinking and dancing your way through the Feast!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Events like this cannot happen without volunteers. We are looking for help setting up, general support throughout the day and grounds cleanup after the event is over. No heavy lifting involved- just bring a smile, your love of community and being involved in this great new event . Help is also needed serving for the harvest dinners in the middle of Oakland Avenue.
