This week the Village of Shorewood Board voted unanimously to move forward with the Shorewood Criterium Cycling Classic brought to you by the Business Improvement District and the Tour of America’s Dairyland. The races are scheduled for Friday, June 25th from 11am to 8:30pm. We are committed to doing our part to prioritize the health and safety of our attendees, staff, volunteers, and all other participants in order to protect our community and are excited to see the return of this annual event.
Races of this caliber could not happen without the support of you, our community and many volunteers and Shorewood has always risen to the challenge. If you are interested in either sponsorship opportunities or volunteering as a course marshal, please email Steph at director@shorewoodwi.com

DOG ADOPTION EVENT at Riley’s Sandwich Co: This Saturday, April 24 12-3 pm – Rescue Gang will be on site with adoptable pups. Alexis Danielle photography will be taking professional photos of you and your pups and giving out discounts for future photography. Rescue Gang alumni will be there as well.
SUMMER HOURS & CATERING: Starting May 26, Riley’s Sandwich Co. will be open weekday hours. Wednesday-Friday 12-7pm. Special Real Estate Update!

Residential real estate is Shorewood has been brisk for some time now. In 2021, it became unprecedented. In 2020, 51 residential properties sold in the village. To date in 2021, 39 properties have sold. The main reason for the decrease in sales is the lack of inventory. The scarcity of available houses, along with incredibly low interest rates, has sent demand skyrocketing! Days on market are down to 29 from 34 and the average final sale price has increased to over asking.
We are being asked a lot of wonderful questions about all of this. It takes a plan and strategy on how to yield the best results from the market and make sense of the chaos.
Would-be sellers need to know that they have someplace to land. Reaching that goal has taken new levels of ingenuity and effort. The creative muscles have to be employed for all buyers due to the heavy competition.
We also face questions about the sustainability of the market. While no one can predict with certainty, there are several reasons why what we are experiencing now is very different from the housing bubble from a decade ago. Equity in properties, housing affordability indexes, and population trends are some of the things worthy of analysis.
