February is Black History Month
The Shorewood BID is excited to support the Black-Owned businesses in Shorewood and the greater Milwaukee area. These hidden gems and local entrepreneurs all contribute to the growth of our community. Resources like MKE Black, Wisconsin Black Historical Society, American Black Holocaust Museum and many others provide access to and education on African America history.
The BID focus on social media this month is to elevate those businesses who add to the vibrancy and rich kinship in Shorewood. Let’s come together to celebrate and uplift these individuals and organizations throughout Black History Month.
“Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere”
– Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Cheers to 3 Years at Riley’s Sandwich Co.
Come celebrate with John, Jess and the whole team of Riley’s at their Social House on Saturday, February 17th! Their family business is getting ready to celebrate 3 years of serving the Milwaukee community. Did you know that they used to personally deliver every delivery order? Often times on the scooter above. As far north as Bayshore Mall, west to Third Space Brewing and as far south as Indeed Brewing and the Ivy House.
Thanks to hard work by their entire team, they’ve grown and evolved. What about luck? Sure, you can call it that, but they believe you make your own by working hard, taking risks and getting back up when you fail. Congratulations to Riley’s on a great “ride”!
