New to Shorewood – Buttermint Finer Dining and Cocktails

Black Shoe Hospitality is opening Buttermint, its new restaurant in the Mosaic building at 4195 N. Oakland in Shorewood to present a “finer dining” experience and cocktails.

Co-owner Chef Joe Muench is constructing a modern menu with inspiration from the early 1960s, an era that launched modern restaurants as we know them today. Buttermint will celebrate this time with touches including Mid-Century Modern décor, a central role for cocktails in the dining experience, new interpretations of Continental cuisine, and a service style that honors the specialness of a night out, according to co-owner Dan Sidner.

The goal is to celebrate dining out and enjoying professional hospitality in an orchestrated, upbeat environment.  The name Buttermint honors the tradition started in this era of a final gift of mints as the check is presented.

Check out Buttermint as soon as they open!

Our Very Own Steph Salvia

If you haven’t heard, our very own Executive Director, Steph Salvia, is moving on to a new opportunity with a local organization and leaving the Shorewood BID.  She has accomplished amazing things, all through a pandemic, building beautiful community connections and perfectly executed events.  We are going to miss Steph, but know we will always see her around town!  Thanks Steph for your hard work and for always bringing a smile to our faces!
